Dr. Murphy's training began at Wayne State University where
he received his Bachelor's degree in chemistry and his Medical
Degree. His internship and residency were completed at Emory
University in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his fellowship in
hematology/oncology and a National Institute of Health Research
Training fellowship at Indiana University.
Dr. Murphy has been in private practice at North Coast Cancer
Care, Inc. since 1992. He is a member of the American Medical
Association, Ohio State Medical Association, American College
of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American
Society of Hematology, and the Ohio/West Virginia Hematology/Oncology
Society.
Patients enjoy Dr. Murphy's sense of humor in addition to his
medical expertise. He always goes the extra mile to make certain
that his patients and their families understand their diagnosis
and treatment plan options. In his spare time, he enjoys spending
time with his family. He is married and has four daughters.
